Our Mission

Sheriff and Police Protection: Will they be there when we need them?

Severe budget cuts impact effectiveness. Federal, state and local revenues are declining, with no end in sight. That’s why concerned citizens have formed the Mendocino Public Safety Foundation to collect voluntary tax-deductible donations to support local law enforcement. Incorporated in 2011 as a nonprofit charity, the Foundation has been granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the IRS. We won’t endorse candidates or get involved in the political process. Through our voluntary annual donations, members will show that we won’t stand idle while public safety declines in Mendocino County. You can help fill the funding gap and send a powerful message of support to our law enforcement officers.

Our funding will be targeted to keep our peace officers safe and more effective, and free up other funding so it is available for crucial needs. Since our outreach and administrative costs have been separately funded by other donors, 100% of every dollar you contribute will go to the sheriff’s office and/or city police. There will be zero deductions for administrative expense.
